The horsepower of the grading machines is being decided as per the type of work. Using a road grader for the purpose of road construction definitely needs a powerful and heavy grader so as to push heavy material with blades.

Using driveway graders or ploughing snow does not need a heavy grader with large horsepower, and so it requires a machine with a comparatively smaller engine.
